Google.org grant provides digital skills for youth and entrepreneurs

In Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine, we’re launching digital skills support for youth and a startup competition for entrepreneurs.
As a result of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as well as COVID-19, digital skills are now a prerequisite for almost all jobs. With a grant from Google.org, SPARK and its local partners will boost the digital skills of refugee and host community youth in Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestinian territories.
Alongside our partners, SPARK delivers digital skills training (covering online presence management, productivity suites and their use in business, online/remote work tools and applications, and data analysis and management) for underserved youth directly linked to digital job opportunities for youth in refugee and vulnerable host communities in Lebanon, Iraq and Palestinian Territories.
A 2-month roadshow supports the economic livelihoods of entrepreneurs from refugee and vulnerable host communities by empowering them on their entrepreneurial journey through coaching, mentoring and business advisory. Plus, SPARK will launch a digital networking platform to leverage the outreach and promote continuous engagement for entrepreneurs and university alumni from the refugee communities across the three countries.
Google.org brings the best of Google to help solve some of humanity’s biggest challenges—combining funding, innovation, in-kind giving, and technical expertise to support underserved communities and provide opportunities for everyone.
