Recovery and Empowerment through Market Access and Transformation (REMARKET)

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are vital to Ukraine’s economic recovery, yet they face significant challenges, including limited access to finance, business development services, and vocational training. The REMARKET Project takes a locally driven, private sector-led approach to expanding market opportunities and fostering sustainable employment.

The REMARKET project aims to enhance market access and foster economic empowerment for IDPs, returnees and host communities, through supporting the startup and growth of selected MSMEs and providing individual vocational training and job placements.

REMARKET blends the Triple (HDP) Nexus and the Market System Development (MSD) approaches. This dual strategy aims to strengthen Ukrainian businesses to foster long-term livelihood development and economic stability, foster social cohesion among IDPs, returnees, and host community members, and address immediate livelihood needs.

Key Interventions:
Business Grants & Development Services: Providing targeted funding and expert coaching to support startups and growing MSMEs.

Financial Inclusion: Partnering with financial institutions to develop MSME-friendly loan products for internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and host communities.

Vocational Training: Aligning skills development programmes with labour market demands to enhance employability.

Market Systems Strengthening: Conducting in-depth market assessments to identify opportunities and shape strategic interventions.
